We've had this unit for one month now and so far so good! The Xbox 360 shipped quickly and arrived in perfect condition. Joining Xbox live is the complex part of the process, but once you get that together, it's pretty impressive how well the system has integrated a gaming platform with computer access to the internet. My son is 10. He loves that it is so easy to interact with other kids. The headset that comes with the unit works well and doesn't need to be upgraded- unless you just want to. Yeah, it makes the cut... no pun intended.
If you've played the first one and liked it, you'll love this one. It's got pretty much the same controls, so no learning curve which is great. It does have lots more cutting, gutting and blasting than the first though, so you've got plenty to look forward to.
Gears 2, also has better content controls. You can turn the strong language off, without having to get rid of all the gore and glory that comes with cutting down a locust with your chainsaw. This game deserves every bit of its M rating. It's also a better shooter than any of the Halo games, and I love Halo... just thought I'd add that.

GOW2 took everything that was good about the first one and made it great. The campaign has an awesome story that grabs a hold and doesn't let go. The action in this game is intense and unyielding. I will say that after you beet the campaign, make sure you sit through the credits, there is a little thing at the very end that may set up a 3rd game, it is a great twist. The inclusion of the new multi-player mode Hoard is alot of fun to play, and at times may seam simply impossible to get past wave after wave. The only problem I have ever had is that the multi-player sometimes takes a long time to find people to play and then will occasionally drop a game in the middle because of networking problems. this is only occasionally though. Overall a must have game and contender for Game of the Year.

Whatever you do don't listen to these long-winded baby gamers who have no idea what a real game is. Fable 2 is an awesome game! Now thats not to say that there aren't some flaws, every game has them. I do think that the storyline could have been developed more, but there are so many secrets in this game it's impossible to find them all the first time around. I've beat the game 3 times and i've found new things each time. Also after you have beat the game and the credits have run completely through the gameplay continues and some quest only appear after you beat the game. This game is BIGGER than you know. So for all these wannabe whiner babies complaining about this game sell your 360 go buy a v-tech and leave the real gaming to the BIG KIDS!

WARNING READ THIS BEFORE YOU BUY
After talking to people, reading reviews, and having my PS2 breakdown I decided to get the PS3. After plugging it in and connecting to my wireless router i received a message to download an update. After doing so i could not reconnect to my router. After over an hour and a half on the phone with their tech support i gave up and figured it out on my own. I had to manually enter the IP and all the DSN addresses as well as my WEP security in order to get back on line and sign up for their network. IT is mind boggling to me that Sony stopped making these reverse compatible with PS2 games. First you needed better than the 40gb version to play ps2. Now even with the 80gb, you still CAN NOT PLAY your PS2 games however you can play PS1. ??? Are you kidding? This is clearly a move by playstation to get even more money from loyal customers. Had this been clear to me....I would have picked up a used PS2 and gotten a Wii and all kinds of games and accessories for the price i paid for the PS3. As for the other features, Blue Ray is nice but additional cables for 30 or more dollars are needed to get that quality to the TV. All all i am not that crazy about plunking down all this money for a system that can't play any of the dozens of ps2 games not to mention Guitar Hero World Tour accessories that are not compatible even if the software was.

First I have to admit that I am new to the Sony consoles. So with that, you will understand that this review will not contain complaints of backward compatibility (or lack thereof). While I do understand those complaints, I just do not have them because I never owned a Sony game unit.
Okay, that out the way...What my family enjoys most about this is how the Playstation Network is soooo fun to play. You can play bowling, pool, and countless other games all with folks you don't even know. Just "walk up to them," (how'd ya like to join me in a game o' pool?) and go for what you know (pretty cool).
Graphics-Graphics-Graphics. Sometimes my wife and I wonder if we are looking at a digital photo or a video game (see Gran Turismo 5). If you have a television with HDMI ports AND you love video games, then this is the gaming console for you!

We purchased the BD remote for Blu-Ray Disc playback functionality, and fell with love with this thing even more.
All gaming systems (pc, wii, and 360) have their pluses and minuses, but out of all of them the Playstation to me stands out because it is a gaming console, but has so much more you can do than JUST play video games with it.
The price is high (both for the console & some games/accessories), but for all it does and can accomplish for you, I have to say it is worth it in the end.

Not sure if I can add something which others have not stated already. I got my item in the time frame they mentioned. It was in good condition although I was a bit underwhelmed by the packaging(i.e. the retail , not speaking about amazon box) The console is heavier than it looks and is fairly wide at its highest curve.
I could not fix it in my pretty thin slot cabinet. Works perfectly well as of now, have been using it mostly for watching Blu-Ray movies, though did buy Heavenly Sword and Uncharted Drakes Fortune games(exclusive to PS3). I also own a 360 which gets most of my gaming time(gamerscore is the reason I go to it,almost exclusively). You also get Home with it(requires an Internet connection to download and use), though I am not a big fan tbh.

Since it uses bluetooth to connect to its controller and pretty much anything else(includes keyboard and mouse)your normal universal remotes wont work with it which is its biggest con I guess. Also, the on screen menu for watching movies is really bad(tiny icons & text describing them is not with the icon itself).

very frustrating and disappointing
I LOVE Jillian Michaels and was so excited to purchase this. I should have done more research and read the reviews. I am very dissapointed. I thought it was more of a Fitness workout, but it more like a game. I work out five times a week and this didn't even get my heart rate up on the running part. I also had the same problem that others had with the game not recognizing my motions. At one point in the log roll, the avatar just moved by itself. I also did not like how few customizable options there are for avatars. I get a better workout from my 4 year old's "Outdoor Challenge" game (which is a blast by the way!!).

I was so excited about this game, I pre-ordered it. I haven't a chance to work with it until today. Oh God, this makes Wii Fitness look like genius. I gave this thing a half hour and I give up. It wins.
There are no instructions. You don't need them on a well-designed game. After poking randomly trying to get it to advance, I finally did some of the "training." The response is so ridiculously slow, you don't know if it's registering anything. Some of the exercises tell you to extend your hands and arms completely apart while holding the controller and nunchuk. Yeah,m aybe if you're under 4 feet tall. The cord's not long enough!
I gave up in total frustration with the grenade throwing exercise. I never got a single response out of the controller when attempting to throw the grenade. All the while, Jillian Michaels is telling me how wonderfully I'm doing.
What a shame. She should invest time in a decent game and give us all a free one for shelling out money for this piece of crap.

I'll start by saying that I wasn't a fan of the game Morrowind, which is the only one I played from that series. I like some RPG's, but don't really care for all the running around, looking here and there, and making mistakes in leveling up a character.
This Fallout 3 was quite a surprise. I rented it first to see how it would be. It started out pretty slow and I had my doubts through the initial part of the game. I kept trying to decide if this would be a game I could really get into, and six hours later, after straight playing, I decided to take the game straight back to the rental place and by a copy.
This is the deepest, most involved game I've ever played. The best part is after exhausting playing as a good character, I can replay the whole thing as an evil sort and the quests will turn out differently. Fallout 3 games
Most of the quests are cool, the main story line is good and the weapons are great.
There are not many mistakes that can be made leveling up, nothing that cannot be fixed later. Sure there are better choices that would have made it easier, but nothing to the point of having to restart to be able to get out of the first level alive.
As with these types of games, you can save anywhere you feel the need, which is handy after walking a great distance. Once you discover a certain new area, you'll be able to fast travel to and from there.
Like I said, I've never played a game so involved with this much action. As long as you don't completely finish the main quest, you'll be able to go around doing all sorts of things, many miscellaneous quests to get into. Well worth the full new price, and I cannot say that about many 360 games today.
One of my favorite things is being able to switch from third to first person easily. I prefer 3rd person viewing for the most part, but during some battles first person is nice. It's just nice to have the option. In that vein, the VATS system is pretty cool.
This place is huge, and you can go just about anywhere you want, save mountainous piles of rubble. Fallout 3 games
You can kill anything and anyone, with the exception of children. This seems to be the only morality forced on you in this game. I've been playing a good character, but occasionally I'll save and kill off a few key characters just to see what happens, then reload.

I watched my 18 year old son play this game and didn't care for the drab colors and depressing topic. Then I started my own game. It is a great game. I have never been disappointed with bethesdas games. I think it will take me a year of playing to do it all. It has lot and lots of side stories. The bad guys I shoot bleed. I don't like having people bleed when I shoot them. In some games you can change that setting. I don't think you can in this game. but it isn't too gross. There is more swearing than I want to hear. But since I can turn off the sound, I don't have to hear it. This game is intended for older kids, like 18 or older. Wouldn't it be nice if they had a Teen version of the game. I would enjoy that more. My sons would be just as happy with it.

I love this game. It is like Oblivion yes, but with guns. I love the fact that my follower from Underworld doesn't need constant protecting. With any game this huge there will be some glitching, but it is a great buy and very fun. The game is deep and worth the money. Try it out.
